ABSTRACT

This work presents an inventory of 14 mite species of the order Gamasida found on 40 beetles collected in the Bialowieza National Park (BNP). Mites of the genus Poecilochirus occur more frequently on insects of the genus Nicrophorus, and mites of the genus Parasitus on beetles of the genus Geotrupes. Iphidosoma fimetarium occurred more commonly on beetles of the genus Carabus and it was not observed on carnivorous or coprophilic insects. Macrocheles glaber was often accompanied by Alliphis siculus. Both species were usually detected on beetles of the genus Geotrupes, Nicrophorus and Pterostichus. In the paper included is also information about available literature on the host, on which a given mite has already been found.
