ABSTRACT

Rhabdias africanus sp. nov. from South African toads Bufo maculatus Hallowell and B. garmani Meek is described. The species resembles R. americanus Baker, 1978, R. bicornis Lu, 1934 and R. ranae Walton, 1929 in possession of two lateral pseudolabia. From these species R. africanus sp. nov. differs in peculiarities of head end morphology: presence of subdorsal and subventral lips overhanging oral opening and barrel-shaped buccal capsule.
