ABSTRACT

Description of 5 new species of Myxosporea parasites found in sculpins of families Cottidae and Psychrolutidae at the northwestern coast of the Japan Sea. Three of them were found in gall bladder (two species of genus Sphaeromyxa and one species of genus Ceratomyxa), and two others - in urine bladder (one species of genus Davisia and one species of genus Schulmania). Differences between the newfound species and similar species described in literature are discussed.
